A door that closes partway and reverses usually means the opener thinks something is in the way. The first thing to check is the pair of safety sensors near the floor: wipe both lenses, look for a bent bracket and confirm each indicator light is steady. If the sensors are fine, the force or travel setting may have drifted, or the door may be out of balance because of a tired spring. Pushing the opener harder to compensate makes things worse, so we check the door by hand before touching settings.

Which remote suits which opener depends on the model and its radio system, so bring the old handset or tell us the model number printed on the motor head and we will confirm what fits before we order anything. Common causes are a changed home router or password, a weak signal in the garage, or an opener that needs to be re-paired. Check the garage signal with your phone first. If the signal is poor, a Wi-Fi extender or a repositioned router helps. We can inspect the opener, test the connection and re-pair it during a visit, but we cannot fix a router that belongs to your internet provider.
