Automatic Systems خدمة الصيانة: الأسئلة الشائعة

Why does my Automatic Systems speed gate report an obstruction with nothing in the lane?

A false obstruction message is usually caused by a dirty, misaligned or failing sensor, or by something reflective near the lane such as a polished panel or a stuck piece of tape. Dust on sensor windows is the most frequent cause. We clean and realign the sensors, check the cabling to them and test the lane with and without a person. If a sensor has failed it needs replacing.

Why will an Automatic Systems gate not open for valid access cards?

If the card reader shows a valid read but the gate stays shut, the release signal may not be reaching the gate. Wiring faults, a failed relay, a configuration change or a gate in an error state can all cause it. We check the reader output, trace the signal into the gate controller and read any fault indication on the unit. We then test the lane with several cards.

What causes an Automatic Systems security door interlock to hold both doors closed?

An interlock holds a door shut when it thinks the other door is open or the chamber is occupied. A misaligned door contact, a stuck sensor or a door that is not fully closing can leave the logic in that state. Faulty wiring between the doors also causes it. We check each door position input, sensors and the control unit, then test the complete entry and exit sequence including emergency release.

What should I check when speed gate wings or flaps stop moving?

First check whether the unit has power and shows a fault code or light. A stuck flap can mean a drive fault, a blocked mechanism, a worn bearing or a safety stop triggered by a sensor. Do not force the wing by hand. Report the symptoms, such as noise or partial movement, and a technician will inspect the drive, limit positions and sensors on site.

What should I prepare before a service visit on Automatic Systems gates?

Tell us which lanes fail, what the display or lights show and whether faults happen at busy times. Arrange a quiet period so a lane can be closed, and inform reception and security. If the gates link to an access control system, have the person who manages it available. Note the model labels on each lane if they are easy to read.

Can a bent or damaged barrier arm be repaired, or does it need replacing?

A boom barrier arm that has been hit by a vehicle is usually bent rather than fully broken, and a mild bend in an aluminium or fibreglass arm can sometimes be straightened. A sharp bend, a crack, or damage near the mounting bracket is a safety risk and the arm should be replaced rather than repaired.

We also check the barrier's mechanism and counterweight spring after any impact, since a bent arm can throw off the balance even if the arm itself still looks usable.

What happens to a turnstile in a fire or power cut?

A correctly installed turnstile is fail-safe. In a power cut or on a fire alarm signal, the arms or flaps release so people can walk out. Some models drop the arms, others unlock the rotor.

Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors tests this release at handover and during servicing.

Should I choose a tripod or a full-height turnstile?

A tripod turnstile is compact and fine indoors where staff are present. A full-height turnstile cannot be climbed over, so it suits unattended or outdoor sites. The choice follows from the risk and the setting.
