Electronically, faults are most often an encoder or cable problem, supply trouble or a board damaged by heat, moisture or a surge. Operators that rely on an encoder track the gate position electronically. A sudden power loss, or a battery that fails to carry the cycle, can leave the board unsure where the gate is. It may then move slowly or stop until it relearns the travel.

On the electrical side we check supply, board, encoder, photocells and edges, and run several cycles with an obstruction test.
