Hikvision supplier, installation & repair in Abu Dhabi

Supplied, installed, serviced and repaired by Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors.

Hikvision is a video surveillance manufacturer based in Hangzhou, China. Its range covers IP and analogue cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), video intercoms and access control terminals. We install, repair and maintain Hikvision systems for villas, warehouses, shops, car parks and offices across Abu Dhabi and the wider Abu Dhabi area.

Hikvision CCTV installation in Abu Dhabi

A good camera system starts with a site walk. We check where each camera will see, how the cable will run, where the recorder will sit and whether the switches can power every camera. Typical work includes dome and bullet cameras, PTZ units at gates and yards, an NVR with disks sized to the number of cameras, and a display or app view for the owner. Our CCTV security systems page lists the work we handle.

Hikvision NVR and camera fault finding

Most calls come down to a short list of causes. We start with the simple checks and work inwards.

  • Camera offline: a damaged cable, a failed PoE port, a loose RJ45 end or a camera that lost its network address.
  • No recording: a full or failed hard disk, wrong recording schedule or the NVR clock out of step.
  • Poor night image: dirty dome, spider webs on the lens, infrared glare off a nearby wall or a failing power supply.
  • Remote view not working: router changes, port settings or an app account that was never linked to the recorder.

Hikvision video intercom and door stations

Door stations and indoor monitors are common in villas and apartment blocks. We check the cable run, the power supply, the lock release and the button or camera on the outdoor unit. Where an intercom controls a gate, we also test the relay that triggers the gate motor.

Hikvision access control terminals

Hikvision also makes card readers, face and fingerprint terminals and door controllers. We mount and wire them, set up users and door schedules, and test the electric lock, exit button and door contact. See our access control systems service for the full scope.

Hikvision maintenance visit

A planned visit usually covers these checks:

  • Clean domes and housings, and check mounts and cable glands for water ingress.
  • Review recorded footage to confirm every camera is saving and the date and time are right.
  • Check disk health and free space on the NVR.
  • Test power supplies, switches and any UPS that feeds the rack.
  • Check readers, locks and door contacts if access control is installed.

Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors installs, repairs and maintains Hikvision systems. If you run mixed equipment, we also work on Dahua cameras and recorders. Book a free site visit and we will inspect the system on site.

Hikvision service across Abu Dhabi

Hikvision service, frequently asked questions

Why does a Hikvision camera show offline on the NVR?

An offline camera is usually a cable or power problem, not a failed camera. A crushed or water-damaged network cable, a dead PoE port on the switch or NVR, or a loose connector are the usual causes. Sometimes the camera has lost its network address after a router or switch change. A technician traces the cable, tests the port with a known good camera and checks the address settings. If the camera still will not power up, the unit or its power supply is replaced.

What should I check when a Hikvision NVR has stopped recording?

First look at the hard disk status on the recorder screen. A full, missing or failed disk is the most common reason recording stops. Next check the recording schedule and whether overwrite is on, since a disk set not to overwrite will simply stop when full. A wrong date and time also makes footage hard to find. If the disk shows as faulty, it needs replacing, and old footage may not be recoverable. We check all of this on a site visit.

Can I add more cameras to my existing Hikvision recorder?

Only up to the number of channels the recorder supports, and only if it has bandwidth and disk space for them. Count the free channels and PoE ports first. If the recorder is full, options are a second recorder or a larger model. Camera resolution matters too, because higher resolution fills disks faster. Bring the recorder model number and photos of the back panel to the visit, and we will check what the unit can take before anything is ordered.

Why has my Hikvision video door station lost its picture or sound?

Loss of picture or sound on a door station is often a wiring or power issue at the outdoor unit. Sun and rain can degrade connectors over time, and a weak power supply can leave the camera dark while the button still works. On networked systems the station may have dropped off the network. We test power at the door station, check the cable and terminals, and confirm the indoor monitors can still reach it. The lock release is tested at the same time.

What should I prepare before a Hikvision CCTV service visit?

Have the recorder and any login details available, and tell us who normally manages the system. Note which cameras are faulty, since a short list of camera locations saves time on site. If the system has a monitor or app view, check what you can see and what is missing, and mention any recent router, power or building changes. Clear access to the recorder cabinet, ladders and any locked plant rooms also helps the technician finish the inspection in one visit.

Will a swing barrier open if there is a fire alarm?

It should. A correct installation links the barrier to the fire alarm panel, so the leaves open and stay open when the alarm sounds. This is a safety requirement for lobbies where people need to leave quickly.

Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors tests this connection during commissioning and during every service.

What happens to a turnstile in a fire or power cut?

A correctly installed turnstile is fail-safe. In a power cut or on a fire alarm signal, the arms or flaps release so people can walk out. Some models drop the arms, others unlock the rotor.

Qasar Al Neil Automatic Doors tests this release at handover and during servicing.

Should my lobby have a swing barrier or a turnstile?

A swing barrier suits lobbies that need a welcoming look and easy access for wheelchairs, trolleys and luggage. A turnstile physically restricts one person at a time and suits sites where tailgating is a bigger concern. Some buildings use both: a turnstile for staff and a swing barrier for the accessible lane.
